IMPORTANT TECHNICAL BULLETIN
Dear FDR Customer,
Ref: Y2K Problem
We have discovered a Y2K problem that occurs when a multi-volume VSAM
cluster is the first or only cluster restored. If the run date is in year
20xx, the creation date in the catalog will show year 19xx. While the
date is incorrect, the creation date in the catalog is not usually used
in any processing. The creation date in the DSCB, which is used by many
programs, is set properly.
Attached are fixes for:
V5.2 L60 to L66 P52.1345 -- V5.3 L20 to L25 P53.2148 -- V5.3 L30 to L35
P53.3092
Note: If you are licensed for ABR, you must be running Version 5.3 Level
20 or higher.
If you want to download the fix go to our web site to access our FTP site.
Click on FTP. Your access code is __________________. The ________ is
in upper case.
Go to the download directory and then select FDR_V52 or FDR_V53 then select
either P521345.PTF or P532148.PTF or P533092.PTF.

Customer,
Ref: Y2K Problem
We have discovered a low-impact Y2K problem in FDREPORT.
Under some circumstances FDREPORT will read the creation and expiration
dates for ICF VSAM clusters from the catalog instead of from the VTOC and
VVDS. When this is done, year 2000 and beyond are formatted as year 19xx.
This affects the FDREPORT fields CRDATE, EXPDATE, CRDAYS, and EXPDAYS.
The problem only occurs in these circumstances:
1) FDREPORT is running unauthorized (not recommended)
2) The rarely used parameter ENABLE=DATELOCATE is specified
3) the undocumented parameter ICFSOURCE=LOCATE is specified
4) an error occurs while reading the VVDS
We believe that this will affect very few customers, but if you believe
that you may have one or more of these conditions, please apply the attached
fix (P53.2150 or P53.3100). V5.3 level 36 and above will contain the fix.
